Diagnosis

The   diagnosis   of   VZV   infection   is   usually   clinical, however VZV PCR of vesicular fluid should be used for confirmationVZV IgM is detected in acute chickenpox and in about 70% of people with HZ, whereas VZV IgG cannot differentiate acute and past infection or prior immunisation. (35).
